Accusation against a resident of Bnei Brak: spying on a nuclear scientist in the Iranian mission

Asher Binyamin Weiss, a resident of Bnei Brak, spied on Iranian agents targeting an Israeli nuclear scientist in order to eliminate him • The documentation was passed on to a young man from the Beit Tzafa neighborhood, who was tasked with the task of elimination • For thousands of dollars he also set fire to vehicles, scattered pipes on the roads – and hung hundreds of signs calling for civil unrest

This morning (Thursday) the State Attorney’s Office submitted to the Tel Aviv District Court an indictment against Asher Binyamin Weiss, a resident of Bnei Brak, accused of following an Israeli nuclear scientist at the direction of Iranian agents with the aim of eliminating him.

He is accused of the crimes of contact with a foreign agent, passing on information to the enemy and obstruction of justice.

The indictment states that Weiss was employed by an Iranian agent and performed various tasks for him, which have the potential to harm the security of the country.

Under the guidance and direction of the Iranian agent, Weiss used a Go Pro camera to document the home and car of an Israeli nuclear scientist, whose identity is prohibited from publication, and sent the documentation to the agent for the purpose of promoting the elimination plan.

The Iranian agent sent the documentation to a young man from the Beit Tzafa neighborhood in Jerusalem, who was assigned the task of carrying out the assassination plan. The indictment against the young man and 6 other defendants was submitted last week to the District Court in Jerusalem.

The indictment also states that under the direction of the Iranian agent, the defendant set fire to vehicles, threw pipes on Israeli roads, sprayed graffiti and hung hundreds of inflammatory banners in Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan calling for civil uprising.

Weiss was required to prove to the Iranian agent that the tasks assigned to him were carried out, by photographing and sending the photos and videos to the agent.

The defendant carried out the actions for a total payment of thousands of dollars, which was carried out using cryptocurrency.

The prosecutor’s office requests that Weiss be detained until the end of the legal proceedings against him.

“This case joins a series of serious indictments that have been filed in recent weeks, as part of an uncompromising fight waged by the state attorney’s office against those who seek to harm the security of the state.”
