Kuparsi came out in the 67th minute of the match that was held in Belgrade for the fourth round of the continental competition, after a violent intervention on his face by Red Star defender Uros Spajic.
After the match – in which the Catalan team won 5-2 – Barcelona’s account published a picture that showed the seriousness of the injury suffered by Kuparsi, as his face was still stained with blood due to the injury.
Cobarsi underwent a quick operation after leaving and Sergi Dominguez took his place, as the deep wound on his face required 10 stitches, leaving a clear scar that may later require another cosmetic operation.
Barcelona’s account commented on the photo in which Koparsi appeared smiling, “Everything for Barcelona,” in reference to the strength and seriousness of the young defender and his endurance of a lot of pain in order to defend the team’s shirt.
Thousands of Barcelona fans commented on the photo, expressing their solidarity and love for the 17-year-old player, and directed many expressions of compliments and compliments to Kuparsi, without some of them hiding their horror at the severity of the injury and its clear impact on his face.
