A source in Al-Ahly told “Yalla Koura”: There is a tendency not to renew Tao’s contract

A source within Al-Ahly club revealed the possibility of the departure of South African player Percy Tau during the upcoming winter transfer period.

The source explained to Yalla Koura website that there is a proposal not to renew Tau’s contract, which expires at the end of the current season, which may prompt the club to market for him in January to benefit financially from his transfer to any other club.

The source added that the club’s management will meet with the technical staff led by Swiss coach Marcel Kohler during the international break to discuss some files related to the team’s lineup and determine the positions that need strengthening, and among the issues raised is Percy Tau’s position.

The source added that Kohler welcomes the idea of Tau’s departure in light of the crisis of foreign players facing the team, as Al-Ahly seeks to include a new foreign striker or winger next January, at a time when Tunisian player Ali Maaloul is pressuring him to register him after recovering from injury.

The source added that although no official offers have arrived for Tao yet, there is a green light for Mohamed Ramadan, who is responsible for marketing at the club, to contact Tao’s agent, discuss his future, and inform him of Al-Ahly’s desire to facilitate the transfer process, unlike previous seasons.
