Walid Salah El-Din, director of football at Z Club, believes that his team deserved a penalty kick during its match with Al-Ahly in the Egyptian League.
Al-Ahly defeated Zed, 1-0, in the match that was held in the second round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Walid Salah El-Din said in statements to On Time Sports 1: “I was hoping that referee Mahmoud Al-Banna would summon Mahmoud Naji to review Ahmed Nabil Kouka’s shot inside the Al-Ahly Club penalty area via video technology, because I see it as a valid penalty kick from my point of view.”
He added: “The match witnessed some tension due to the difficulty of the competition in the league, as no team wants to waste points from its score in the first round.”
The director of football at Z Club continued: “We modified our playing style during the match due to Al-Ahly’s possession of the ball in the midfield area, and we tried to advance, but Al-Ahly is a strong team that is good at defending and attacking alike.”
With this result, Al-Ahly collects 6 points in the Egyptian Premier League championship after winning in the first round over Ceramica Cleopatra with a score of 5-2.
