A-State Women’s Basketball All-50 Year Team Revealed

JONESBORO, Ark. (11/13/24) – Arkansas State women’s basketball announced the All-50 Year Team on Wednesday afternoon to celebrate the 50th anniversary of women’s sports at Arkansas State University.
 
The team is highlighted by 12 all-conference selections, six A-State Athletics Hall of Honor inductees, three Sun Belt Conference Players of the Year, both All-American honorees, and a WNBA second-round draft pick. To qualify, a player must have graduated from A-State and/or exhausted their eligibility with the program.
 
The women’s basketball program began when women’s sports were introduced in 1974-75, with Kay Woodiel leading the program along with volleyball and women’s tennis. Arkansas State played 10 games in their debut season, finishing with a 2-8 (1-4 AWISA) record before improving to 16-7 (12-4 AWISA) the next year.
 
While the Scarlet and Black’s 50th season took place in 2023-24, the program will celebrate 50 years of women’s sports throughout the 2024-25 home slate, which includes a Ladies Day game theme on Dec. 7 against Jackson State.
 

A-State opens its 14-game home docket against Mississippi Valley State on Nov. 13 at 6:00 p.m. inside First National Bank Arena. The game can be heard on 95.3/95.9 The Ticket Radio Network and can be viewed on ESPN+.

Adrianne Davie – 2004-07
2017 Hall of Honor inductee … Places third on the A-State all-time scoring list (1,978 points) … All-time leader in rebounds with 1,147 boards and third with a 9.2 average in her career … All-time leader in free throws made (523) and free throws attempted (716) … Scored the most points in a women’s basketball game in First National Bank Arena history with 38 against ULM on January 17, 2007, and matched the record for blocks with six against North Texas on January 20, 2005 … Recorded third-most blocks in a season in program history with 55 in 2006-07 … Posted a 15.8 scoring average during her time with the Red Wolves, the sixth-highest in program history … Scored 707 points in the 2006-07 campaign which stands at second in the record books for most points in a season … 2003-04 All-SBC Honorable Mention … 2004-05 All-SBC selection … First All-SBC First Team pick in school history (2005-06, 2006-07) … Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament Team selection in 2005 and 2006 …  Four-time Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week … Helped lead the Scarlet and Black to three WNIT appearances from 2003-04 to 2006-07.
 
Keeshia Evans – 1998-01
Helped lead the Red Wolves to a pair of WNIT appearances in 1998-99 and 1999-00 … Places seventh on the A-State all-time scoring list (1,538 points) … Averaged 12.8 points over her career, which is the 10th highest in program history … Drained the sixth-most field goals in program history (598) … Posted a .787 free throw percentage during her career (ninth-highest in program history) … Tallied the sixth-most assists after dishing out 351 …  2000-01 All-SBC selection.
 
Danielle Featherston – 1993-96
Places ninth on the A-State all-time scoring list (1,391 points) … Made 238 three-pointers in her career, which is the second most in program history … All-time leader in three-point field goal attempts with 699 … Made the second-most three-pointers in a season with 76 in 1997-98 … Holds the program record for most treys made in a game with nine against UAB on December 30, 1992 and again on January 22, 1994 against Lamar … 1995-96 All-SBC Selection … Part of the 1992-93 NWIT Championship team and the 1993-94 NWIT Runner-Up squad.
 
Charlotte Fields – 1984-87
Scored the first points in a women’s contest at First National Bank Arena during a 70-63 win versus Indiana State … 1998 Hall of Honor inductee … Places 10th on the A-State all-time scoring list (1,323 points) and ninth for rebounds (707) … Posted a 15.0 scoring average during her career, which is the eighth highest in program history … Tied for third in program history for career field goal percentage (.499) … Posted a .526 field goal percentage during the 1983-84 campaign, which ties for the fifth-highest by a Red Wolf in a season … Ranks fifth for career blocks with 80 and recorded 51 in 1987-88 …

Places 12th all-time on the A-State scoring list (1,304 points), leading her teams in 1978-79 and 1979-80 … Recorded the fourth-highest field goal percentage in a season in program history (.548, 1979-80) … Brought down the second-most rebounds in A-State history at 1,055 and holds the program record for rebounds per game in a career at 10.2 and in a season (10.3, 1977-78) … Tallied the most rebounds in a game in A-State history with 23 against Arkansas Tech in 1976-77.
 
Jane Morrill – 2011-14

Shay Scott – 2008-11
Places 11th on the A-State all-time scoring list (1,320 points) … Tallied the 10th-most field goals in program history with 521 … Recorded the fifth-most free-throw attempts with 513 during her career … Brought down the 959 rebounds, which is the fourth-most in A-State history … Tied for the third-most rebounds in a game with 18 against Missouri State on December 5, 2010 … Blocked 102 shots during her career, which is the second-most in school history … Named to the 2008 Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament Team … 2011-12 All-SBC Second Team selection … Played professional basketball in Israel following the conclusion of her senior campaign.
 
Rudy Sims – 2004-07
