The American envoy: We have achieved positive progress in the negotiations, and I am heading to Tel Aviv

US envoy Amos Hockstein said, “We have achieved positive progress in negotiations with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.”

Hockstein added after his meeting with Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament: “I will travel from Beirut to Israel to try to reach a solution.”

He continued: “It is not possible to disclose publicly the controversial points regarding the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.”

For his part, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said, “Tel Aviv is in contact with the Americans regarding a possible settlement in Lebanon,” and added: “With the arrival of the American envoy Amos Hochstein to the region, a result can be reached. In any agreement we reach, we will have to preserve On our freedom to act against Lebanon if there are violations, we must be able to act in a timely manner, before the problem worsens, because we have learned a lot from the reality of the enormous infrastructure that we found on the ground in Lebanon and Gaza, after October 7. “These facilities will not be allowed to grow again, nor will they be allowed to develop into a threat again.”
