Egyptians are awaiting the launch of the eSIM service, and a source at the Egyptian Telecom Company confirmed that the company is ready to launch the integrated SIM service after the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority approves the official launch of the service in Egypt.
The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the Ministry of Communications had announced, in previous statements, the launch of integrated communications chipsets before the end of this year.
This comes within the framework of Telecom Egypt’s endeavor to expand the provision of new advanced services that meet the needs and aspirations of its customers in accordance with the company’s customer-centric strategy, which is in line with the state’s plans to achieve sustainable development and digital transformation.
The eSIM is an ideal alternative to the traditional SIM; The customer can move between different mobile networks without the need to use more than one SIM, as it allows storing information for each line with ease of moving between them, and the customer also avoids it being damaged or lost.
The source stated, in exclusive statements to Al-Youm Al-Sabea, that to activate the new SIM, the customer must ensure that his phone supports this service by entering the phone settings or calling 111, Telecom Egypt customer service, to verify the availability of the service on his phone, then go to The nearest WE branch located throughout the country to purchase the eSIM service and obtain the QR Code for the service. After that, the customer downloads the line files and network definitions provided that he is connected to the WiFi network, then calls the Telecom Egypt customer service center 111 to confirm the data and activate the service.
The source said that the SIM will be available to all individual customers, whether in the event of replacing it or in the event of purchasing a new line. As for corporate customers, it is available to them in the event of replacement only, noting that the new service is available on smart devices that support the integrated SIM service.
