Birth and upbringing
Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani was born in Al-Hasakah Governorate in 1987. He lived and grew up in Damascus with his family, and studied there until the university level.
Study and scientific training
He graduated from the University of Damascus – Faculty of Arts and Political Science in 2009, specializing in English language and literature, then obtained a master’s degree in political science and foreign relations from Sabah al-Din Zaim University in Türkiye In 2022, he completed his doctorate in the same specialty in 2024.
Most prominent positions and responsibilities
Al-Shaibani joined the Syrian revolution since its launch in 2011. He witnessed and participated in all its stages, and contributed to the establishment of the Syrian Salvation Government in 2017.
Al-Shaibani worked on the humanitarian side and established distinguished relations with… United Nations And its agencies and contributed to facilitating humanitarian work in northwestern Syria.
He took over the management of political affairs in the Syrian Salvation Government since its establishment, during which he met with officials of United Nations agencies and major external organizations working in Idlibpolitical representatives and diplomats.
On December 21, 2024, the Department of Political Affairs in Syria announced that Al-Shaibani was assigned the portfolio of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the caretaker government, to be the first to hold the position after the fall of ousted President Al-Assad Jr.
