The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia intends to establish specialized courts to adjudicate investment disputes.


This came in a questionnaire received by the Federation of Saudi Chambers from the Ministry of Investment, and addressed to a number of major government agencies operating in a number of strategic sectors, to find out the extent of the need to establish specialized investment courts.


According to the Ministry, the questionnaire aims to survey the opinions of government agencies regarding investors’ dealings with the judicial environment in the Kingdom in light of the rapid qualitative legislative and judicial developments, for the purpose of supporting the wheel of development and improvement in a way that takes into account the goals and aspirations of investors and supports the national investment targets approved in the National Investment Strategy.


According to data numbersThe fourth pillar of the National Investment Strategy, which was launched in 2021, includes working to establish specialized courts, including investment courts, in addition to reviewing, evaluating and amending existing legislation and regulations that negatively affect investors, and establishing arbitration centers in cities and special economic zones. .
