The international star’s female colleagues defended her Blake Lively Her co-stars in the film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants have publicly reported, after the actress filed a lawsuit against It Ends With Us star and director Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment.
America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel, who co-starred in the 2005 film and its 2008 sequel, issued a statement on Instagram in support, with the trio writing: “We stand with… Blake “In solidarity as she resists the alleged campaign to destroy her reputation, during the filming of It Ends With Us, we saw her summon the courage to demand a safe workplace for herself and her colleagues on the set, and we are astounded to read evidence of a deliberate and vindictive effort that followed to discredit her.”
The statement continued: “What is most disturbing is that the stories of domestic violence survivors are being exploited to silence a woman who asked for safety. We are shocked by the fact that even if a woman is as strong, recognized, and talented as our friend Blake, she may face violent retaliation because she dared to demand a safe work environment.”
Ferreira, Tamblyn and Bledel continued to encourage others to read the full legal complaint detailed in the New York Times, adding, “We are inspired by our sister’s courage to stand up for herself and others.”
