The Saudi Foreign and Defense Ministers met in the capital, Riyadh, with their counterparts in the Syrian caretaker government and discussed – in two separate meetings with the Syrian delegation – ways to support the transitional political process in Syria, in addition to other joint files.

The two sides also touched on “many topics aimed at preserving the institutions and capabilities of the Syrian state, and returning it to its natural status and position in the Arab and Islamic worlds.”
In a separate meeting, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman said – through his account on the “X” website – that he held a fruitful meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Minister of Defense and the head of the General Intelligence Service in the new Syrian administration.
Prince Khalid bin Salman added that the meeting discussed the latest developments in the situation in Syria and ways to support the transitional political process in a way that achieves the aspirations of the Syrian people and ensures the security, stability and territorial integrity of Syria.
He pointed out that the time has come for Syria to stabilize, rise, and benefit from the capabilities it has, the most important of which is the brotherly Syrian people, according to the Saudi minister.
Coinciding with the Syrian visit to Riyadh, the third plane from the Saudi relief air bridge arrived in Damascus, according to the official news agency in Riyadh (SPA).
On Wednesday, Saudi Arabia announced the launch of an air bridge to Syria to transport humanitarian aid, including medical, food and shelter supplies, to “alleviate the difficult conditions” for the Syrians.
