Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, issued a decision requiring Saturday, January 25, 2025, to be an official paid holiday for all workers in ministries, government departments, and public bodies.

The decision included public sector companies and the public business sector, in addition to private sector companies, with the exception of exams that may take place on this day, which will continue according to the dates set by the concerned authorities.

For his part, an official source at the Ministry of Labor revealed the date of the January 25 Revolution Day holiday and Police Day holiday for the year 2025.

The source said, in statements to Masrawy, that the holiday for January 25 Revolution Day and Police Day 2025 will be on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

The source explained that this leave will be on the same day scheduled for the government sector, but employers in the private sector have the right to decide to employ employees on this day if the need arises.

Employee rights in the event of working during vacation

The source indicated that if the employer decides to employ employees on the day off, he must give the employees double wages in accordance with what is stipulated in Article (52) of the Labor Law.

The Department of Labor is expected to issue an official statement soon with additional details regarding the leave and how it applies to workers in the private sector.
