Everton’s suffering continued after its balance was frozen at 25 points in 16th place, noting that 6 points were deducted from its balance due to financial irregularities, after 10 points were initially deducted from its balance before its appeal was accepted.
Garnacho makes history
Argentine Alejandro Garnacho scored two penalty kicks that contributed to his team’s victory, Manchester United, over Everton.
The young winger (19 years old) was early to take a penalty kick when he was blocked by James Tarkowski, and Portuguese captain Bruno Fernandes converted it into a goal.
Garnacho won a second penalty kick after being obstructed by Ben Godfrey, and this time Marcus Rashford took it, doubling the difference.
Argentine Garnacho became the first player in United’s history in the Premier League to score two penalty kicks in one match.
Garnacho, who was chosen as the best player in the match, said, “The coach (Dutch Eric Ten Hag) wants me to advance, shoot and dribble. This is what happened today and I got two penalty kicks… We play every match as if it is a final.”
United came out to the cheers of their fans at Old Trafford, amid talk of the desire of the new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, to build a new stadium for the club.
