1954 – The Supreme Executive Committee decides to establish the Audit Bureau to monitor and coordinate the government.
1963 – The Social Reform Society was declared one of the public benefit societies in Kuwait.
1974 – Death of poet and writer Haji bin Jassim at the age of 71. He was the director of the Kuwait office in Dubai in 1963 and was chosen as a member of the Real Estate Committee in the Kuwait Municipality and a member of the General Authority for Gulf and South Aid.
1978 – The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, issues a decree-law regarding the rental of real estate. The provisions of the law apply to real estate, including agricultural lands. The rental law is considered a contract by which the lessor is obligated to enable the lessee to benefit from a specified period of time in return for a known fee.
1981 – The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, issues a law approving the basic system of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
2000 – Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah inaugurates the headquarters of His Highness’s Diwan in Seif Palace.
2010 – Kuwait and Brazil sign a number of agreements in the fields of technical cooperation, environment, sustainable development, cooperation in the field of air services, and sports cooperation, in addition to a protocol amending the economic cooperation agreement between the governments of the two countries.
2013 – Dr. Ibrahim Al-Rashdan performs a catheterization procedure on a patient while he is sitting on a chair. This is the first of its kind and one of the rare operations performed around the world after it was not possible to perform it on a regular medical operating bed and it was not possible to use CT and MRI machines due to the patient’s extreme obesity.
2014 – The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor issues a ministerial decision to announce the (Kuwait Society for the Protection of Industrial Property), the (National Humanitarian Message Society), and the (Kuwait Society for National Action).
2021 – The death of international referee and former football player Jawad Ashour at the age of 73. He began his career with the youth team at Kuwait Club and then Al-Arabi Club in the sixties. He joined the national team and then moved to Al-Fahaheel Club before retiring from playing in 1974. In the eighties, he entered the field of international arbitration, which he also retired from in the mid-nineties. (End)
