The Jordanian Minister of Government Communications and official spokesman for the government, Muhammad Al-Momani, stressed that Jordan’s position is clear and permanent that it will not be an arena for conflict for any party, and stressed that protecting Jordan and the Jordanians is considered the government’s first responsibility. Momani’s statements came yesterday evening after recent developments in the region and Iran’s bombing of Israel with more than 200 ballistic missiles, many of which passed through the Kingdom’s airspace.

Al-Momani indicated that parts of the missiles fell in different regions of the Kingdom, confirming that there were no critical injuries, while 3 injuries were recorded that were medically classified as minor.

However, the Jordanian minister pointed out that there was material damage, and that damage assessments were underway.

The Minister also explained that data regarding the incident was published immediately by the Jordanian Armed Forces, the Ministry of Interior, the Directorate of Public Security, and the Civil Aviation Authority.

The Minister pointed out that the Jordanian people have the highest levels of awareness in dealing with such crises, stressing the importance of exercising caution and adhering to the instructions issued by the competent authorities to ensure public safety.

He stressed the importance of not circulating rumors and news from unknown sources, calling on everyone to obtain information from official sources.

Earlier, the Jordanian Armed Forces urged citizens to stay in their homes, while the authorities closed the country’s airspace after Iran launched a wave of missiles towards Israel.

The Jordanian Armed Forces said in a statement that it called on “citizens to remain in their homes to preserve their safety and the safety of their families.”

An official statement quoted an official military source in the Jordanian Armed Forces as saying: “Hundreds of Iranian missiles were launched towards Israel.” A military source confirmed in a later statement that “all formations and units are on alert to confront any attempts that threaten the security and stability of the Kingdom.”

The Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority in Jordan temporarily suspended air traffic in the Kingdom’s airspace in conjunction with Iran’s launching of missiles towards Israel, before the Jordanian army later announced the reopening of the airspace.

Agence France-Presse also quoted a statement from the Jordanian Public Security Directorate saying that Royal Air Force aircraft and air defense systems intercepted many missiles and drones that entered Jordanian airspace. .

The directorate called on Jordanian citizens to “respond to warnings from the army as a result of Royal Air Force aircraft and air defense systems dealing with many missiles and drones that entered Jordanian airspace.”
