Benfica defeated its Spanish counterpart, Atletico Madrid, 4-0 in the second round of the Champions League.

The Spanish team, Atletico Madrid, collapsed with a heavy loss to its Portuguese host, Benfica, with a score of 0-4 in the second round of the Champions League.
Benfica ended the first half ahead with a goal scored by Turkish player Mehmet Kerim Akturkoglu in the 13th minute.
In the second half, the Portuguese giant scored three goals against its guest, as veteran Argentine star Angel Di Maria added the second goal in the 52nd minute from a penalty kick.
Alexandre Bah increased Benfica’s lead with a third goal in the 75th minute, and Turkey’s Orkun Kukcu completed the hosts’ four in the 84th minute with a penalty kick.
Benfica raised its score to six points, achieving the full score in the two matches it played after defeating Serbian Red Star in the first round, and will play in the next round at home against Feyenoord of the Netherlands.
As for Atletico Madrid, its score froze at three points after a difficult victory over German Leipzig with a score of 2/1 in the first round, and it will play against French Lille in Madrid in the third round.
