The artist Diab revealed his opinion about the statements of the artist Elham Shaheen about prayer, which sparked great controversy.
Diab said during his episode of the Mirror program, which is presented by the journalist Khaled Farag on his official YouTube channel, about the situation that Elham Shaheen told about her saying that a director stopped filming for the sake of prayer: “What is the problem? It happens a lot. For example, this year I was filming with the director Amr Arafa. At prayer time, we stop for 5 minutes, pray, and then return to continue filming.”
DiabDiab added: “The filming hours are interrupted for an hour and a half because an artist is coming late or doing her hair or makeup and she does not like it. We sit idle for 3 or 4 hours. Is this more important, or is it not prayer? The matter is simple, meaning it is not needed. We spend hours on a lot of pampering that does not go away with prayer.” Whoever wants to pray should pray. What is the problem? I mean, the 5 minutes for prayer. The day will be ruined. It will not be ruined. Everyone has a point of view, and this is my point of view. We are not in the business of disrupting the interests of citizens.”
Diab concluded his speech: “We stand for hours because an artist adjusts his clothes or an artist adjusts her hair. By God, we may sit for two hours. I do not see that there is a problem.”
