A lawyer submitted a report to the Public Prosecutor against Egyptian artist Mona Farouk, on charges of incitement to spread debauchery and debauchery, demolishing societal values, misusing social media sites, and harming emerging businesses.
The report also accused the artist of harming the minds of young girls, describing her presence on social networking sites as dangerous, as it directs the minds of boys to “insolence,” “lack of morals,” “multiple romantic relationships,” and “violation of public modesty.”
Lawyer Ahmed Mahran stated, in his post on his official Facebook account, “Mona Farouk was not ashamed of what she did and disappeared from sight. She is still spreading rumors about her common-law marriage to Khaled Youssef, even though he acknowledged and did not deny the matter.”
He continued to say: “The question remains clear regarding what Mona Farouk mentioned about her common-law marriage. Is there a man who marries two common-law women at the same time?”
The Egyptian lawyer considered Mona Farouk’s continued appearance on social media to ignore her previous actions, without shame.
He added: “Mona Farouk has returned to acting again, appearing on social networking sites, and telling the girls that I am beautiful, and I want to get married, once, twice, or three times. This was considered a promotion for the girls of the night and the streets. As a celebrity, you are supposed to be a role model for girls. You are not fit to be an artist.”
The Egyptian lawyer also called on the Egyptian Acting Professions Syndicate to prevent Mona Farouk from appearing in drama and cinema, and said that she is an dishonorable model for the Egyptian artist and actress.
Mona Farouk had recently published a video clip through one of her accounts on social networking sites, in which she responded to the continuous attacks on her, indicating that she intended to act coldly, saying, “I intend to remain rude, silly, and withdrawn.”
Social media pioneers circulated the video clip, sparking widespread controversy. Some critics pointed out that Mona Farouk wanted to remind people of her action in a provocative way.
It is noteworthy that Mona Farouk disappeared years ago, after serving her prison sentence. Because of her famous case with director Khaled Youssef, she gradually returned through a movie and a series.
