Japan tops the Asian rankings for women’s club competitions

Kuala Lumpur, October 16 (QNA) – The Asian Football Confederation announced today, Wednesday, the classification of women’s club competitions in the Asian continent.

Japan topped the Asian classification after coming in first place with (100) points, while Australia came in second place with (98,219) points, and South Korea ranked third with (85,597) points.

The AFC said in a statement on its official website: The distinguished performance of the Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds, which won the 2023 Asian Women’s Club Championship, helped Japan to top the Asian classification, after the team achieved a full score in the group stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League (2024-2025), which concluded. Recently, he achieved three victories, while the Japanese national team reached the quarter-finals of the 2024 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The distinguished performance of the Australian club Melbourne in the group stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League, in addition to the record arrival of the Australian national team to the semi-finals of the World Cup, also helped Australia obtain second place in the continental classification.

South Korea owes its third place in the Asian classification to the Hyundai Steel Red Angels club, which topped the first group of the AFC Women’s Champions League with two wins and a draw.
