Singer Elissa sent a message to Lebanese singer Fairouz, celebrating her 90th birthday, which falls tomorrow, Thursday, November 21.
Elissa posted a video clip of Fairouz on her Instagram account, and commented: “You taught us how to dream, how to love, and how to carry Lebanon in our hearts.”
She added: “Your voice will always renew hope in us and unite us in love and homeland… Happy new year, you are the symbol of Lebanon and the icon of art… Happy new year, Fairouz.”
It is noteworthy that Fayrouz was born on November 21, 1934, and she is considered one of the oldest artists in the world, one of the golden generation of theater and music in Lebanon, and one of the most famous Arab voices. Her artistic works were widely popular in the Arab and Western world, and she was nicknamed in Lebanon “the seventh pillar of Baalbek.”
