Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed, the Al-Ahly club player, responded to the crisis raised since Al-Ahly’s training session yesterday, Wednesday, due to the injury he suffered, with a wound in the wrist.
Omar Kamal suffered an injury after the end of Al-Ahly’s training session yesterday, and news spread that he got into an altercation with one of his teammates, before Al-Ahly denied this news in an official statement.
Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed said in television statements on Al-Ahly channel: “I hope that those who come out with incorrect stories verify their information first, because if someone other than me cannot bear it, he may be affected.”
He added: “After the end of the training session, I went to take a shower and my foot slipped, and when I tried to avoid falling, my hand entered a cracked part of the plastic surrounding the shower cabins.”
He continued: “Ahmed Jaballah, the team doctor, preferred to stitch the wound in the hospital immediately, which is what actually happened, and I do not know the number of stitches.”
He stressed: “I will return to training tomorrow, Friday, and it did not take more than 10 minutes to treat the wound. Anyone who knows me well knows that I do not get into problems, nor do I cause them with any teammate. Also, as players, we respect each other. Whoever says this means talking about the team.”
He concluded: “I cannot get into trouble with any of my colleagues. I am fine now, and God willing, we will achieve all the championships in the coming period.”
Al-Ahly took a break from training today, Thursday, and the team will resume training tomorrow, Friday, in preparation for facing Algeria’s CS Belouizdad next Sunday, in the third round of the African Champions League.
