The Vanessa Guillen murder case

Vanessa Guillén, 20, was killed on April 22, 2020, at an armory in Fort Hood, Texas.

The perpetrator was another soldier, Aaron David Robinson, who beat her to death.

About two months after Guillén’s disappearance, her dismembered remains were found buried along the Leon River on June 30.

After learning of the discovery, Robinson fled Fort Hood and eventually fatally shot himself when police tried to arrest him in nearby Killeen, Texas.

After Robinson’s girlfriend, Cecily Aguilar was taken into custody; authorities claimed she helped him dismember and bury Guillén’s body.

On July 2, 2020, Aguilar was indicted on one federal count of conspiracy to tamper with evidence.

On July 13, 2021, a federal grand jury indicted her on eleven counts.

Aguilar subsequently pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact to murder and three counts of perjury on November 29, 2022.
