Regarding praying for rain for myself, Sheikh Attiya Lashin, a member of the Fatwa Committee at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, said in his interview with “Al-Watan” that it is permissible and desirable for a Muslim to pray to God Almighty in various forms, including what was mentioned about the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, when The rain falling, in the Prophetic hadith, Aisha, the Mother of the Believers, “that when the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saw rain, he would say, ‘O God, a beneficial rain.’”

– “O God, purify my heart, expand my chest, make me happy, accept my prayers and all my obedience, answer my supplication, remove my distress, anxiety, and fainting, forgive my sin, fix my condition, relieve my sadness, whiten my face, make Al-Rayyan my door, Al-Firdaws my reward, and Al-Kawthar my drink, and grant me a share in what I love. Oh God, give us rain, relief, refreshing, beneficial, and harmless.”

– “O God, I seek refuge in You from laziness and old age, sin and debt, from the temptation of the grave, from the torment of the grave, from the temptation of the Fire and the torment of the Fire, and from the evil of the temptation of wealth, and I seek refuge in You From the temptation of poverty, and I seek refuge in You from the temptation of the Antichrist. Oh God, wash away my sins from me with ice water. And cold, and purify my heart from sins as you purified a white garment from filth, and distance me from my sins as you distanced between the east and the west.

– “O God, protect me with your lawful deeds from your forbidden things, and enrich me with your grace from those other than you. Oh God, you are the owner of the kingdom. You give the kingdom to whomever you wish, and you take away the kingdom from whomever you wish, and you honor whomever you wish, and humiliate whomever you wish. In your hand is good. You are capable of all things. Oh God, there is no objection to what you do.” You gave, but there is no giver Why did you prevent it, and your seriousness will not benefit you.”

– “O God, O Lord, O Ever-Living, O Ever-Living, O Possessor of Majesty and Honour, I ask You in Your great, greatest name to grant me an ample, lawful and good sustenance, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the Merciful. Praise be to God, whoever trusts in Him does not leave him to anyone else. Praise be to God, who is our trust when our suspicions of our deeds become bad. Praise be to God, who is our hope when the tricks and the rope are cut off from us. O Most Generous, O God, O Most Merciful, O All-Knowing of secrets, consciences, obsessions, and thoughts, nothing escapes You. I ask You for a flood of Your bounty, and comfort and relief from the sea of ​​Your generosity. You hold the whole matter and the reins of everything, so grant us what our eyes will be pleased with, and what will enrich us. When asked by someone else, you are generous, generous, and merciful.

“O God, grant me useful knowledge, ample sustenance, and a cure for every illness and disease, O You who provide for whomever You will without reckoning, Most Merciful of this world and the Hereafter, and Most Merciful of them. The distressed, miserable, poor drowning person who has no one to reveal his sins except you.

Supplication when the rain is heavy

When the rain became intense, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, would say: “O God, around us, and not against us, O God, on the hills, the mountains, the thickets, the groves, the valleys, and the treetops.”
