Today, Tuesday, the Cairo Economic Court postponed the examination of 8 cases accusing Mortada Mansour of insult and defamation until next April 30, for pleading.

Mortada Mansour faces accusations of insult, slander, and defamation from Mahmoud Al-Khatib, President of Al-Ahly Club, Al-Ahly’s legal advisor Mohamed Othman, Mamdouh Abbas, former President of Zamalek, and media figures Ahmed Shoubir and Abdel Nasser Zidane, and Hani Al-Attal, former Vice President of Zamalek.

Prosecutors accused “Mansour” of intentionally disturbing them on social media, and misusing social media sites to commit the aforementioned crime.

The Court of Cassation upheld Mortada Mansour’s imprisonment for a month – he served his sentence and was released – a ruling that led to the removal of his membership from the presidency of the Zamalek Club.
