Mrs. Suhair Turk, the mother of the artist Rania Farid Shawqi, passed away today, Thursday, after a struggle with illness.
The late Mrs. Suhair Turk married the late artist Farid Shawqi in 1970, and lived with him for 28 years, until his passing in 1998.
Farid Shawqi, “the screen monster,” spoke during his appearance on the program “He Said.. She Said,” about the details of his acquaintance with Mrs. Suhair Turk, explaining that she met him as a “fan” while he was presenting the play “Al-Daloua,” with the participation of the artist Nelly, In 1968, confirming that she came to him and expressed her admiration for his performance and the story of the novel.
He continued: “I like in a woman the way she speaks with respect. She did not speak to me in a soft or rude manner. She truly admired art and acting.”
He added: “At first I said I would show her more respect…and after that we talked on the phone.”
Regarding the love relationship that arose between them, he said: “After the divorce from the artist Hoda Sultan, I became alone, and I fear loneliness a lot, so I brought my aunt and my mother to console me, and after that my father died, and Suhair came with her father to my office, to offer condolences, and I asked her to visit me.” the next day”.
Farid Shawqi continued: “The next day, I told her to marry me, and of course she was very happy.”
Mrs. Soheir Turk passed away from our world at dawn today, Thursday, and the funeral prayer is scheduled to be held today, Thursday, after the noon prayer, in Al-Kawakibi Mosque “Farid Shawqi Mosque” in Agouza, and the burial will be in the family cemetery on Fayoum Road.
