NOTABLE

Another Weekend Series Win
The Vols continue to take care of business on the weekends as they posted their eighth straight SEC series win last week by toppling No. 25 Vanderbilt in Nashville, winning each of the first two games before dropping the series finale on Sunday, which ended a nine-game winning streak against the Commodores.

Tennessee is the only Power conference team that has won eight consecutive weekend series and sits one game behind Kentucky for first place in the SEC standings entering the final week of conference play.

Tennessee Remains On Top

After going 3-1 overall last week, including a road series win against the Commodores, the Vols held steady atop all five of the major college baseball polls as the nation’s unanimous No. 1-ranked team. This week marks the 14th in program history that Tennessee has been ranked No. 1 in at least one poll and the 12th in which they’ve been the unanimous top-ranked team.

Return to Rocky Top

After spending the last two weekends on the road, the Vols return to Knoxville to host four home games this week, starting with Tuesday’s in-state battle against the Bruins. UT is 17-4 against fellow Volunteer State schools since the start of the 2022 season.

The Big Orange are 31-3 at home this year with five series sweeps, marking the program’s fourth consecutive season with 30 or more home victories. Tennessee’s 31 home victories this season are the third most in the country entering play this week while their .912 winning percentage at home ranks sixth nationally.
