A member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association, Ihab Al-Komi, said that the national team’s technical staff, led by Hossam Hassan, “has not been able to communicate yet” with the national team’s captain and English Liverpool player, Mohamed Salah, in the midst of controversy and allegations about a dispute between the two sides.
Al-Koumi told the media Local mediaOn Monday, he said that “the national team’s staff, led by Hossam and Ibrahim (Hassan), has not yet been able to communicate with Mohamed Salah,” adding that “there has not been any meeting yet” between the new national team’s technical staff and Salah, since Hassan, a former player with a history, took over. Distinguished in Egyptian football, training the Pharaohs last month.
But the official denied “the existence of differences” between the two parties, explaining that the Egyptian Minister of Sports, Ashraf Sobhi, “will hold a meeting between the two parties to prepare the atmosphere in the national team.”
The Egyptian national team is preparing to play two international friendly matches in the UAE, on March 22 and 26.
The Egyptian Football Association indicated in a statement this week that it had received a letter from Liverpool FC requesting that Salah not be included in the national team during this month, due to his injury and fears of its worsening.
But the director of the Egyptian national team, Ibrahim Hassan, announced the list of professionals called up for the two matches in March, and Salah was at the top of the players.
Hassan said in a statement to the Football Association: “The apparatus is keen, first and foremost, on the safety of the players, and in the event that any player is injured, his matter will be decided by the technical and medical staff of the team during his presence in the camp, in coordination with his club in all transparency.”
The Egyptian national team will play against New Zealand on March 22, with the winner facing the winner of the Tunisia-Croatia match 4 days later.
Salah had left the national team and headed to Britain to receive treatment, following his injury during a match between the Egyptian team and its Ghanaian counterpart in the group stage of the African Cup of Nations, which was held last January and February.

The star of the Egyptian national team and the English Liverpool club, Mohamed Salah, revealed on Thursday that he had begun a treatment and rehabilitation program, so that he could return to the ranks of the “Pharaohs” who are participating in the ongoing African Cup of Nations finals in Ivory Coast.
Salah left the field in the 43rd minute of the match, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Salah left for England on a private plane, after the Football Association, in coordination with the Egyptian national team’s medical staff, sent a detailed report on his injury to Liverpool, according to the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram, after it was confirmed that he had a first-degree posterior muscle strain.
Salah only participated with Liverpool as a substitute in one match against Brentford, before his injury renewed. He is expected to return in the Manchester City match next Sunday.
