Ismaily’s victories in the league were interrupted by a draw against Tala’ea El Gaish in the 23rd round of the league competition.
The two teams tied with one goal each in the match held at the Military Sports Authority.
Al-Ismaili had achieved two consecutive victories in the league before today’s confrontation.
While Talaea El Gaish scored a point after two defeats in a row, and Talaea El Gaish failed to win their last four matches in the league.
Eric Traoré opened the scoring in the 62nd minute after a wonderful cross from Abdel Karim Mustafa.
While Godwin Cheika equalized by taking advantage of Mohamed Hani’s cross in the 72nd minute.
Talaea El Gaish raised its score to 29 points in ninth place out of 21 matches, while Al-Ismaili reached 26 points in twelfth place.
Without victory
Al-Ismaili did not taste victory over Tala’ea El Gaish for the eighth consecutive match in the league competition.
The last victory of the Dervishes over the Vanguards of the Army was in September 2020, which ended with the Ismaili victory with a free goal.
Since that match, the two teams have played eight matches in the league, with Tala’ea El Gaish succeeding in winning four times, compared to four draws.
Talaea El Gaish defeated Al-Ismaily in the last two confrontations, in addition to winning four of the last five matches held between the two teams before the current confrontation.
The match was calm between the two teams in the first half, and Mohamed Shaaban prevented the most dangerous chances of the half in the eighth minute.
While in the second half, Eric Traoré took advantage of a wonderful cross from Abdel Karim Mustafa.
The army vanguards intensified their attacks after the goal in order to equalize, until Godin succeeded in exploiting Mohamed Hani’s cross and scored the equaliser.
